High-efficiency charge distributor made with FET technology which, unlike diode technology, allows for a very low voltage drop (from 0.01 to 0.2V at full load). It allows two or more batteries to be charged simultaneously, keeping them electrically separate and preventing the discharge of one from causing the discharge of the other. Designed specifically for applications in the marine and automotive sectors for alternator charging of multiple banks with different uses (e.g. starting and services). It is equipped with an auxiliary ‘Energise’ contact for alternator excitation, which is necessary when the alternator needs a voltage on the B+ output to start charging. Some alternators require a DC voltage on the B+ output to start charging. Obviously, the voltage will be present from the moment the alternator is connected directly to a battery. Inserting a diode or FET splitter will prevent voltage/current from returning from the battery to the B+ output, thus preventing the alternator from starting. The new Argofet isolators have a special input for limited current alternators that will power the B+ output when the engine start/stop switch is closed.
