The “Elastic AL.FV.50” system is suitable for the thermal insulation of exhaust manifolds. Designed to control the temperature of diesel engine exhausts, it is also used in other applications where it is necessary to combine efficient thermal insulation with stable resistance to water, oils and UV rays. It consists of an inner layer of glass fibre with high thermal insulation properties, covered by a heat-reflective film that allows the material to stretch whilst preventing slippage, and an outer layer made of a high-temperature-resistant, self-fusing elastomer that provides additional protection. Classified as ‘flame-retardant’ in accordance with UL94 V-O. It can be applied in multiple overlapping layers where necessary.
